Energize

We have two Energize groups, one for primary age children, and one for those at high school. They meet on Sunday morning during the second part of the service. We also have a very thriving creche for those under school age.

We aim to teach, inspire and build faith in our young people and help them to find their place in the church.

We have a dedicated team of volunteer leaders who meet regularly to review, plan and pray together.

We like to use material that is relevant, fun and challenging; that will inspire our young people to explore the bible and apply it to their own lives.

We are currently using Scripture Union's 'Light Live' programme. We also plan our own sessions and projects based on a particular theme. Energize sessions may include games, drama, DVD clips, Computer/powerpoint presentations, crafts & discussions etc.

We very much encourage our young people to be actively involved in church worship and the young people enjoy participating in services, presenting dramas eg; at Christmas and even leading their own services!

We are keen to instil a real concern for God's world in our young people. We regularly plan social action and mission projects using BMS and our own material. Projects have included a "Kids of Courage" for Francis House Childrens Hospice Francis House Children's Hospice, the "Filipino Factor!" raising awareness and funds for the Phillipines, an "Uganda Extravaganza" - learning about that country and its issues, and a "Water for All" project and service followed by a "Big Splash" fun day. Since 2009 we have been sponsoring a young girl in Uganda, called Joanita.

Any young people attending church are welcome to join us in Energize as we endeavour to show God's love and be inclusive to all. Matt 18:4-5
