In September 2008 we embarked on an exciting campaign to discover the life purpose of every member of the church through a 40 Days of Purpose, the number of our home groups doubled from four to eight, with 53 people attending those groups regularly.
The campaign had such an impact that we want to continue on the great adventure, to help guide us we have adopted the following as our Mission Statement.
Stockport Baptist Church aims to be a place where people meet Jesus and where the worship expresses God's holiness.
We aim to be a prayerful and vibrant Fellowship where people are growing spiritually, guided by the word of God.
We express Christ's love by welcoming all, being part of a caring and inclusive community, and a distinctive part of the local area.
We will present the message of Jesus in attractive, varied and relevant ways, and learn from one another's different and continuing spiritual journeys.
We wish to serve others in the local and world communities according to people's needs. We will encourage and reach out, especially to young people and families.
We will stand for truth and fight injustice.
From now on Let's Live our Life Purpose.
